about us

Soapbox Project creates joyful third places that help us transform our climate anxiety by learning, connecting, and taking action on the climate crisis! We have online and in-person community spaces (”vibraries”) that heal our isolation and help us come together to heal the ecological crisis. Our vision is that every neighborhood in the world has a place where they can build community resilience. Our flagship in-person space is in Seattle, Washington and now we’re launching in Portland, Oregon.

We’re the #1 most fun place on the planet for people to put down their worries, build skills and confidence, and meet new friends to build the world we want to live in.

I’m Nivi, Soapbox’s founder, and the one who’s writing this application.

about the role

Every geography will be managed by a Community Lead which is currently a part-time role (~20h/week) that makes all the magic happen.

You are the person in charge of founding and running Soapbox Portland, and this includes:

To get a sense of what this role requires, you can go to our Seattle events calendar and hit “past”. We’ll model our Portland role off of the success in Seattle, but YOU will be in charge of getting this location off the ground and growing the community.

Our community programming is every Tuesday evening at The Social Good Place in Portland. You’ll be the one making it happen along with a team of stellar volunteers you’ll build.
